The SKYNET wrist mounted video microwave receiver has been designed to enable Government, Police officers or Military personnel to receive pictures from heliborne or aircraft fitted with a downlinking microwave capability.
SKYNET offers more than two hours of continuous use from 3 x lithium AA batteries and provides a high quality picture on a 2.5 inch TFT LCD screen. SKYNET is completely self contained and has a built in patch antenna.
The range of the signal received is solely dependant on the output from the transmitter onboard an aircraft, however, 7 miles is typical from both Police and Military aviation units.
SKYNET measures only 4.5" x 3" and is easily strapped to the forearm by means of a velcro wrist band. The system can be configured to any operational requirement.
SKYNET is the smallest portable video microwave receiver currently available in analogue format.
It has been responsible for delivering operational commanders on the ground with the vital intelligence needed to obtain the initiative on many national incidents where different aviation downlinking assets were being used.
